Supremes May Tell Us To Fix Stupid Legislators Ourselves. JANUARY 10, 2014 BY FRED WEINBERG

Bless Associate Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor!
When
she was nominated, my guess, studying her previous decisions and her life’s
story, was that eventually she might become the Justice he regretted appointing
the most.
Yes,
she’s a liberal Democrat. And, yes, she usually votes with the liberal wing of
the Court.
But her
order delaying a provision of the Obamacare law on New Year’s eve in favor of
the Little Sisters of the Poor set some boundaries on her liberalism.
To
recap that argument, The Little Sisters are an order of Nuns that runs nursing
homes for seniors who cannot afford such niceties as getting old. They do
not wish to sign a piece of paper authorizing the Government to force an
insurer in their name to make contraception available with the health insurance
they are obligated to provide their employees, since that goes against their
religious beliefs.
Now
Barack Obama thinks that the government should force health insurers to pay for
birth control irrespective of the employer’s religious beliefs. And while
the optics of beating up on an order of Nuns running nursing homes for the poor
aren’t good, he wants to (pardon the phrase) stick to his guns.
Fortunately,
Sotomayor was willing to listen to the Nuns and their lawyers, and she has
issued injunctive relief until the full Court can decide what to do. I expect
that is because she has a very healthy respect for the First
Amendment and is
not willing to bow to political expediency.
She
also, last week, facilitated a temporary halt to homosexual marriages in Utah
and has, in doing so, probably precipitated the final decision the Court has
been avoiding, which is whether or not two males or two females have a
constitutional right to be married to each other.
While
you may think of it as the ultimate social values case, in truth, it is the
ultimate state’s rights case. It is the biggest test yet of the 10th Amendment,
which says:“The powers not delegated to the United States by the
Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States
respectively, or to the people.”
One would
observe that the word “marriage” is neither found in the Constitution nor in the Bill of Rights.
The
current Court has essentially said in both the Obamacare individual mandate
case and the previous homosexual marriage case overturning the Federal Defense
of Marriage Act, “Don’t blame us when you elect crappy legislators. Fix
it yourselves.”
In the
case of the Obamacare case, the Court said that, in point of fact that the
“fine” for not having health insurance was indeed a tax, and the Constitution
allows the Federal Government to levy such a tax. Whether or not you
agree is irrelevant. You elected these clowns; and you can, if you don’t
like the law, un-elect them. In the past, this nation has even rewritten
the Constitution when it has been provoked enough, as in the case of
prohibition. So it CAN and HAS been done.
In the
DOMA decision, the Court decided that when a state says homosexual marriage is
legal, the Federal Government CANNOT un-recognize the state’s action, which is
what the Defense of Marriage Act did. Contrary to what the mainstream
media gushed, it did NOT endorse homosexual marriage; but it DID, resoundingly,
endorse the 10th Amendment.
The
more I read her opinions and the more I look at her legal history, I see her as
the future swing vote from the left as Anthony Kennedy and, occasionally, Chief
Justice John Roberts have been from the right.
By the
time a case gets to the Supreme Court, from a legal standpoint, the emotion is
gone.
It is
up to each Justice to interpret the law as the Chief once told the Senate, by
acting as an umpire calling balls and strikes.
The
truth is, whether or not you agree with each member’s individual politics,
there are no political hacks on that bench.
If the
referral from Sotomayor sets up the 10th Amendment smackdown that is widely
anticipated, remember that it could just as easily be an argument abut the
legalization of marijuana or a speed limit of 110 miles per hour. The
important part is not whether or not homosexuals can marry, but what the
boundaries of the 10th Amendment are.
Whichever
way both decisions go, it will probably just be the Court saying what it has
said in the past: If you want better laws, elect better legislators. It is not
up to us to bail you out of your stupid electoral decisions.

Why John Roberts (Likely) Is Protecting Obamacare… JANUARY 9, 2014 BY DR. KEVIN "COACH" COLLINS
On
Monday, without comment (because he could not make a coherent one), Chief
Justice John Roberts denied a
request by the Association of American Physicians &
Surgeons and the Alliance for Natural Health USA for a stay in the
implementation of Obamacare. The groups had made their application last Friday,
arguing that since the bill had been declared a tax by the Supreme Court (with
Justice Roberts himself the deciding vote), and it had originated in the Senate
(the Constitution says
revenue bills may not originate), the law was therefore unconstitutional; and
implementation of Obamacare should at least be stayed pending
further examination.
While
there are other minor issues attached to the application that were also not
addressed, the truth of the matter is clear: John Roberts will never do
anything to derail Obamacare, no matter what arguments against it are brought
before him.
There
is very good reason to believe that regardless of the media’s skillful
smothering of the story, John Roberts is being blackmailed to make certain
Obamacare never falls in a Supreme Court case. The basis of this charge
surrounds the fact that a series of
strange (and probably felonious) acts are attached to
the adoption of his two children.
In
2005, when they thought they were doing the Democrats’ bidding, the New York
Times dug into apparently easily accessible records and found that the children
Roberts and his wife adopted in “South America” started life as Irish citizens.
This is a red flag. The laws of Ireland regarding adoptions are very clear:
adoptions by non-citizens are prohibited, as are private adoptions.
Apparently,
when the Democrats realized they could control a Supreme Court Justice’s vote
through blackmail over his having committed a number of international crimes,
the Times pulled back and dropped its investigation. The Democrat paper of
record pulled back because it didn’t want to “ break the seal of an
adoption case” – as if violating laws ever means anything to Democrats in their
quest for power. Keep in mind Barack Obama’s violation of his opponents’
“sealed” divorce records propelled him to a US Senate seat.
What
does the Roberts problem mean for the average American who looks to
Washington for relief from Democrat oppression? It means we won’t be getting

Watch Incredible Video Of The Plane Crash That Killed Fuddy
The
single-engine plane crash that killed Hawaii’s Public Health Director sparked a nationwide debate last month. Loretta Fuddy, the woman who
authenticated Barack Obama’s disputed birth certificate, was the only passenger
of nine to die in the Dec. 11 offshore crash near Honolulu.
One
passenger, Ferdinand Puentes, recently released his own video of the emergency
landing. The footage reveals a very calm environment just prior to the crash.
Correspondents on ABC’s Good Morning America released the footage, with George
Stephanopoulos remarking there was “not a single scream,” noting passengers
were “so methodical, all getting out in time.”
When he
was reminded that Fuddy perished in the crash, he responded, “Sad – but, boy,
that is incredible stuff we saw right there.”
Puentes
described the ordeal, saying “Time stopped and everything you remembered in your
past, your loved ones and everything, I didn’t say goodbye to them. Your life
just goes in front of you.”
He
recorded the entire crash and kept his camera on as passengers escaped to wait
for rescue. The slow response of emergency crews, along with other perceived
inconsistencies in the crash report, led to a lawsuit seeking additional information.
After
the crash, a number of skeptics suggested Fuddy’s death was suspicious in such
a relatively minor crash. Passenger C. Phillip Hollstein described the
incident as almost smooth.
The
pilot “set it up for the best crash-landing you could do,” Hollstein said.
“There wasn’t panic or anything. It was very orderly. It wasn’t like any of the
movies or the TV shows.”
The
crash has been blamed on engine failure.
While
an individual could undoubtedly die from injuries sustained in such a crash,
the fact that Fuddy played such an integral role in Obama’s continuing birth
certificate debacle opened the crash up to speculation.
No
matter the ultimate cause of Fuddy’s death, the reaction to this incident
illustrates the distrust many Americans have of this administration.

No Se Debe Perder la Oportunidad
Los Demócratas han tenido la habilidad con la complicidad de los
medios noticiosos de lograr elegir de presidente de los Estados Unidos a una
persona exclusivamente por su raza.
Jugando con la culpabilidad del pueblo americano por su racismo
durante los años de la segregación, los convencieron de votar por el primer
presidente negro de la nación. No hubiera sido algo tan malo si este negro
hubiera estado capacitado, pero Obama no tenía las credenciales para ser
presidente de los Estados Unidos. Nunca ocupó una posición
productiva durante su vida, y estuvo solamente dos años como senador sin penas
ni glorias antes de ser electo presidente. Sus amigos y familiares eran
comunistas declarados, enemigos de los Estados Unidos, y uno de ellos fue
hasta un terrorista confeso.
Después su gestión de gobierno ha sido funesta a pesar de lo mucho que
los medios para tapar sus errores
Ahora quieren hacer lo mismo para elegir a la primera mujer
presidente. Han ungido a Hillary Clinton para ser candidata en las
próximas elecciones del 2016. Este es un error que si lo cometen se
debe de aprovechar. Hillary es una mujer sin carisma, popular entre
las mujeres feministas pero no entre las mujeres femeninas que son las
más. Tiene un cementerio de esqueletos que no alcanzan los meses de
campaña para sacárselos. Durante la presidencia, como primera dama
se ganó numerosos enemigos dentro del partido demócrata.
Si hacemos un análisis de la derrota de Romney vemos que fue solamente
por un 2% del voto popular. Si bien es verdad que lo que cuenta es los
delegados de los estados, lo que tenemos que tener en consideración es que
cualquier candidato republicano frente a Hillary puede hacer un mejor papel, y
muchos estados que cayeron dentro del azul pasarán al rojo.
Los ciudadanos blancos puros, todavía son un 70% de la población y si
sólo votaron por Romney por una diferencia de un 6% con Hillary deben de votar
por mucha más diferencia.
Los negros no pueden votar más por Hillary que por otro candidato
porque votaron un 97% por Obama
Con el Obamacare, hemos visto como la juventud se le ha virado a
Obama, ya no es el ídolo, algunos hasta han pedido que se
impugne. Los jóvenes votaron por Obama 62-38. Con Hillary
y sus antecedentes de Hillarycare cuando era primera dama, no creo que obtenga
esa cantidad de votos entre los jóvenes.
Los hispanos a pesar de la percepción sólo votaron por una diferencia
de 57-43, algo que se debe de poder mejorar.
Los independientes también volverán al partido Republicano después del
desgaste de ocho años de Obama y los liberales demócratas.
Y como dije arriba, los demócratas moderados no van a votar por
Hillary por sus antecedentes, o sea que no será 95-5 como fue por Obama en las
pasadas elecciones.
Los Republicanos en estas elecciones están para ganar y si pierden es
por su culpa, por las luchas intestinas interminables.
Lo pueden hacer si Hillary es la candidata y sería una avalancha
ganadora si el candidato es Kerry. Todo depende del candidato que se
escoja por los republicanos y de que los ataques entre los candidatos en
las primarias no sean rirreversibles. Que no se convierta en el
partido de Chacumbele que el mismito se mató. Es hora de votar con la
cabeza no con la emoción.
Hay que establecer una diferencia entre una crítica constructiva a un
Republicano que vote en contra de nuestra manera de pensar en un asunto y
declarar que la persona a pesar de tener coincidencia en otros asuntos queda
eliminado y atacarlo como un enemigo.
Hay infiltrados y tenemos que pensar no con nuestras emociones pero
con el pragmatismo del enemigo que nos ha ido ganando hasta cambiar la cara de
la nación.
Cuando alguien que se dice que es conservador, hace de un conservador
una crítica que vemos que no es constructiva pero destructiva, debemos
rechazarlo. No verán a un liberal atacar a otro liberal como un
conservador o alguien que se hace pasar como conservador ataca a otro
conservador. La oportunidad para ganar está presente y después se
pueden discutir las diferencias intestinas.
No es fantasía, no es ilusión, estudien los números abajo.
Amenper: La Mariguana…
La legalización de la Mariguana es una proposición política, no tiene
nada que ver con el uso médico de los canabinóides como el THC y el CBD. Estas
drogas se pueden desarrollar en laboratorios para productos farmacéuticos como
sedantes y analgésicos en pacientes que lo necesiten. Es igual que
la codeína y el opio y otras drogas.
El elixir paregórico, que es un elixir de anís opiado, es popular y
muy usado como antiespasmódico y analgésico, así como la codeína y hasta la
morfina, metadona y otros opiaceos.
Estas drogas han sido usadas como fármacos desarrollados en
laboratorios y bajo receta médica
En ningún momento se consideró legalizar el fumar una pipa de opio.
¿Cómo vamos a considerar el cigarro de mariguana como algo para uso
médico? ¿Dónde está el control de la dosificación? ¿Dónde está el
control de calidad de la elaboración de la planta como droga médica?
Es más honesto el decir que se quiere aprobar la legalización de la
mariguana para uso recreativo, que es el verdadero objetivo. Entonces sin la
excusa hipócrita del uso medicinal, pudiéramos entrar en una discusión sin que
insulten nuestra inteligencia.
Lo del uso medicinal es una pobre excusa para que nuestra juventud use
el producto como un estupefaciente para ponerse en “tono”, y es parte de la
degradación de la juventud que comenzó en los años 60 y que se quiere completar
ahora.
No se puede comparar al alcohol, una copa de vino o una cerveza no
producen el efecto de un pitillo de mariguana y cuando un policía detiene a un
conductor errático, no puede detectar el nivel de mariguana como lo puede hacer
del alcohol porque el efecto de la mariguana comienza de la primera
inhalación..
Aparte del deterioro moral que produce la legalización de una droga
del tipo de la mariguana, los que no la usamos y estamos conduciendo en la
calle y tenemos que enfrentarnos a conductores intoxicados por la droga,
tenemos motivos para protestar que nuestros derechos están siendo violados.
Nos siguen martillando con el alcohol, y sin lugar a dudas hay abuso
de alcohol, pero es más controlable que el uso de la mariguana o de otras
drogas como la cocaína y las drogas analgésicas de codeína abusadas que
necesitan receta médica.
Es una hipocresía cuando mencionan esto, si consideran que el abuso de
esas drogas es algo malo,
¿Por qué entonces quieren introducir una nueva droga y legalizarla?
Pero la situación es que los mariguaneros de los 60 están en el poder,
Obama, Hillary Cinton, Kerry y otros en posiciones de poder fumaron o quizás
todavía fuman mariguana. No cuento a Bill Clinton porque Slick Billy que
siempre tiene una buena respuesta para todo ya nos dijo que el fumó pero
no inhaló la mariguana.
Amenper: Desigualdad entre Indigentes y Delincuentes.
Antes del siglo 18, ya se había establecido en Norteamérica un sistema
formalizado de ayuda al indigente, de bienestar infantil, e inclusive de salud
mental. Estos sistemas tenían el doble propósito de ofrecer compasión,
protección y de ayuda a buscar trabajo... En los albores del siglo 19 los
estados de la unión empezaron a responsabilizarse por la distribución de
beneficios sociales en poblados y condados. En 1930, el sistema estadounidense para el
bienestar social, Welfare, comprendía un conjunto de agencias benéficas
locales y estatales sin coordinación entre ellas, con fondos y recursos módicos
provenientes de los contribuyentes locales, organizaciones
caritativas de Iglesias, y ciudadanos privados- En casos de catástrofes
naturales o de otro tipo, el gobierno federal ayudaba a los estados, como fué
el caso con el programa de los refugiados cubanos...
A principio de los años 1960 se instituyeron diversos programas
federales para ayudar a los estados con el Welfare y se instituyó el programa
de ayuda médica para indigentes que era como se llamó el programa más conocido
como Medicaid, y se estableció el Programa de Estampillas para la Comida (Food Stamp
Program) para asegurarse que todos los indigentes tuvieran acceso a la
alimentación y al sustento diario.
Creo que lo que ha sucedido en este país es que la indigencia se ha
politizado, las personas de bajos recursos se han visto perjudicados por
personas que no sólo no necesitan estos servicios pero que ingresan en los
programas con la premeditación de cometer fraude.
Estos servicios se instituyeron como una ayuda temporal para que
durante un período de trastornos de salud o económica recibieran ayuda mientras
se recuperaban. De hecho el instrumento principal de la “Guerra a la
Pobreza” de los 60 fue el Acta a la Oportunidad Económica (EOA, Economic Opportunity
Act) que incluía programas como “las Brigadas de Trabajo” (Job Corps), Rumbo
Arriba (Upper Bound), las Brigadas Juveniles del Vecindario (Neighborhood Youth
Corps), y Acción Comunitaria todos encaminados a una búsqueda de trabajo a la
vez que se prestaba ayuda.
Siempre en esta historia de compasión del pueblo americano, estaba implícito
en que era algo temporal, no una dependencia de por vida dando ayuda para una
persona que no estuviera imposibilitado física o mentalmente de una manera
permanente y a veces por generaciones. Nunca cuando empezaron estas ayudas se
pensó en el indigente profesional, esto es algo de nuestros tiempos modernos.
Pero todo el que ha estado de una manera u otra asociado a los
programas de ayuda puede testificar del fraude institucionalizado de la
mayoría, y no exagero cuando digo mayoría.
Estoy leyendo hoy en el periódico unos casos de un estudio sobre el
número de personas que recibían cheques del welfare y visitaban por lo menos
dos veces al año Disney World.
Nosotros los cubanos ya sabíamos esto. Hay personas que reciben
cheques de ayuda como indigentes, y viajan regularmente a Cuba.
A ellos no le gusta la palabra indigente, pero está en el documento
que firman para recibir estos programas de ayuda, tienen que declarar que por
sus bajos ingresos son indigentes.
Según el diccionario “se
entiende por indigencia cuando el ingreso es insuficiente para cubrir una
canasta básica de alimentos y vestimenta para un individuo o un hogar.”
Pero no les gustan que le llamemos indigentes porque no llevan
realmente una vida de indigentes lo que llevan es una vida de delincuentes-,
Porque todo el que comete el delito de fraude es un delincuente. No sólo son
unos ladrones del dinero de los contribuyentes, pero roban de los que
verdaderamente necesitan la ayuda.
Lo vemos en las farmacias, cuando convencen a su médico que les recete
una medicina que no necesitan para cambiarla por artículos que no son de
primera necesidad no aprobados para la ayuda a indigentes o enviárselo o
llevárselo a sus familiares a Cuba. Lo vemos en los mercados cuando
hacen lo mismo, comprando con los cupones de alimentos, bebidas alcohólicas y
cigarros. Lo vemos a mayor escala cuando se descubre ocasionalmente a una
empresa cometiendo fraude al Medicare o al Medicaid. Una empresa no
puede cometer fraude sin la complicidad de los beneficiarios. Pero cuando vemos
en el periódico que detienen a los dueños de las empresas que cometieron el
fraude, no detienen a los beneficiarios que fueron cómplices del fraude.
Si sólo que controlara el fraude, habría suficiente dinero para
mantener a todos los verdaderos indigentes de los Estados Unidos y sobraría
dinero para balancear el presupuesto-
Pero esto no es popular entre los políticos ni entre los periodistas,
porque el fraude es a todos los niveles y hemos llegado a un momento en que los
que contribuyen con los impuestos son menos que los que no pagan ningún
impuesto. Y la matemática es fácil, hay más votantes de los
beneficiarios que de los contribuyentes. Por eso vemos una batalla
por la desigualdad tergiversada. Los desiguales son los
contribuyentes, las personas que con trabajo y lucha logran honradamente sus
ingresos, para cada vez ver más estos ingresos atacados con nuevos impuestos
para mantener a delincuentes. Y los que están pasando por un momento de pobreza
también están siendo perjudicado por estos delincuentes y los delincuentes como
nuestro presidente que por motivos políticos no sólo los protegen pero los
estimulan en su delincuencia.
Hay que ayudar a los indigentes para que no sufran necesidad, pero no
se puede pedir que igualen a los que simplemente tienen menos con los que
tienen más por su trabajo, porque esto no es justicia social, es
comunismo, y el comunismo nunca ha traído beneficios a la sociedad donde se
implanta.
La mayoría de los que se están inscribiendo en el Obamacare son bajo el
Medicaid, o sea que no pagan primas, los jóvenes y personas saludables que
tienen que pagar, no se están inscribiendo. Y siguen hablando de una nueva
lucha para la pobreza para instituir nuevos programas de
beneficio. ¿Por dónde se romperá la soga? Es fácil, por los
contribuyentes que tendrán que pagar mayores impuestos, mas redistribución de
la riqueza..
Por eso es buena la internet, porque no hay periodista que quiera
denunciar esto, no es conveniente atacar a la mayoría. Los que
descargamos en la internet no tenemos intereses políticos creados, simplemente
descargamos nuestras angustias. Nosotros no tenemos que preocuparnos por perder
nuestro trabajo de periodistas porque no somos ni escritores ni
periodistas- Cómo unos simples descargadores que no dependemos
de un periódico o de una estación de radio o televisión.
Aunque a veces nos preocupamos un poco de recibir una visita del IRS

Lo que copio abajo es un párrafo de
"El libro negro de la izquierda americana" (2013), por David Horowitz
que aparece en el Wall Street Journal de hoy. Lo encuentro muy
interesante, porque a un verdadero conservador, lo critican por su falsa de
compasión.
Es injusto que ataquen a un
conservador por no tener compasión, un conservador es simplemente un
pragmático, que no quiere arreglar el mundo pero conservarlo, conservar la
tradición socio-económica cuando vive en un país donde esta tradición ha creado
la nación más poderosa del mundo y la sociedad más rica en la historia de la
humanidad, donde los pobres viven como los ricos de otras naciones.
¿Hay un sistema mejor? Si lo hay,
pero no es real, no existe, está en la mente de los santones que quieren
cambiarnos. Realmente no existe la utopía marxista del comunismo, ni la utopía
de los santones religiosos, todos no somos iguales, somos creados
iguales, pero después no crecemos iguales, lo siento, pero es así. Siempre
habrá diversidad entre los seres humanos.
Pero igual que como las novelas
de caballería enajenaron a Don Quijote, así la prensa izquierdista y los
santones religiosos enajenan la mente de los que se quieren dejar enajenar y
los vemos cargando contra gigantes demoniacos cuando son unos simples molinos.
Horowitz hace una comparación entre
el Islam y el comunismo, y es muy apropiado. Ambas son doctrinas basadas en lo
que en su mente han pensado que es la redención del ser humano, una por la
religión, la otra por el materialismo humanístico, Ambas son utopías, pero
están dispuestos a destruirnos para lograr su pensamiento sobre el nuestro.
Pocas veces vemos que alguien explica
en tan pocas palabras tan bien esto como Horowitz

Bounty Placed On Chris Christie’s Head
The
media gets under my skin. They trumpet and boast about honesty and truth; but
in reality, they’re about as dishonest as the politicians.
Compare,
for instance, the way they’ve handled Obama’s scandals to Chris Christie’s
latest debacle.
The
latter, “Bridge-gate,” has given Big Media a scandal they can really sink their
teeth into. Bridge-gate is being blasted from coast to coast in above-the-fold
banner headlines.
The
coverage on cable TV and even the network news shows is so detailed, it’s
nauseating. (And I say that as a seasoned critic of New Jersey Governor Chris
Christie, the media’s primary target.)
In fact,
according to a report from the Media Research Center, Bridge-gate has received
approximately 17 times more coverage in one day than the Obama
IRS scandal received in months.

Bridge-gate
centers on allegations that, during the month of September 2013, Governor
Christie’s staff encouraged the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to
close several lanes of the George Washington Bridge leading out of Ft. Lee,
N.J.
Now, as
I said above, I’m no fan of Christie. There are plenty of reasons to dislike
him, including his status as the darling of a GOP establishment that’s betrayed
the American middle class time and time again. They want Christie as the GOP
candidate precisely because they know he won’t change things in D.C.
Additionally,
he’s a RINO (Republican in Name Only) who helped Barack Obama win the last
presidential election by locking arms in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
Christie was at Obama’s side during a critical news cycle, and Obama’s support
soared during the run-up to the presidential balloting.
Christie
has also been a critic of Congressional and Tea Party initiatives to reign in
out-of-control government spending and growth, which are initiatives close to
my heart.
But
Christie did exactly what should be done when a scandal erupts. He’s disclosed
all that he knows, apologized, and fired the offending aides for lying to him.
He labeled the incident as “stupid” and “deceitful.” He denied any knowledge of
it, and he took responsibility for falling short.
Additionally,
Christie announced that he asked Bill Stepien to withdraw his nomination to
lead the New Jersey Republican Party. He also asked Stepien to resign his
consultancy with the Republican Governors Association, which Christie runs.
Finally,
during Governor Christie’s 107-minute news conference, he was honest and
contrite. I’ve never seen Obama be contrite about anything.
The Obama-Friendly Media
In
fact, in dealing with his own scandals, Obama has done the complete opposite of
Christie at every juncture. And the president has a list of scandals that are
much more serious than Bridge-gate.
Sadly,
the media has continually whitewashed and pooh-poohed Obama’s crimes.
Take
the Benghazi cover-up, which was followed with an intense media barrage to
convince America that our Libyan ambassador was murdered over a Youtube.com
video. Meanwhile, the source of most of the lies, Susan Rice, was given a big
promotion for her spin doctoring.
With
Fast and Furious, the scandal in which the U.S. Department of Justice put guns
in the hands of Mexican drug cartels, well… nothing has happened. Attorney
General Eric Holder lied about his involvement, yet he still has a job. I guess
the repeated calls for his removal fell on deaf ears.
So when
it comes to Christie’s scandal, the media is showing its true colors. It will
happily go to bat for Obama but won’t pull any punches for the Governor of New
Jersey.
Personally,
I won’t lose any sleep if Christie’s political career ends here in a traffic
jam on the roads to New York City.
I just
wish the news media would be honest enough to hold Obama to the same standards.

Ted Cruz blasts left for ignoring Obama’s abuses [VIDEO]Brendan Bordelon
Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz is dismayed that “every
single Democrat senator goes in line and docilely agrees” with the Obama
administration,
claiming the president’s abuse of authority and ever-expanding powers should be
challenged by lawmakers in both parties.
Cruz spoke with Fox News’ Shannon Bream on Sunday
about President Barack Obama’s increasing authority at the expense of Congress,
particularly after Senate Republicans were blocked from filibustering judicial
nominees through the “nuclear option.” Bream asked the senator if “stacking
courts” is a presidential right and whether Republicans would be objecting if
one of their own was in the White House
.
“Every one of those points is objectively
false,” Cruz retorted. “For one thing, these two issues, the nuclear option and
the president’s lawlessness, are very interrelated. The reason that [Senate
Majority Leader] Harry Reid broke his word — repeatedly he said he wouldn’t
exercise the nuclear option and then he just broke his word, just like
President Obama did when he said if you like your plan you can keep it — the
reason he did that is because the Democrats are very concerned about courts
holding this administration accountable for their lawlessness… This is all
about wanting to pack the D.C. Circuit with judges that President Obama and the
Democrats think will rubber stamp the president’s lawlessness.”
Cruz said it was “striking” that so few
liberal Democrats have pushed back against executive overreach — something that
angered many leftists during the Bush years.
“There have been Republican presidents, unfortunately,
who’ve overreached, who’ve exceeded their executive authority,” he said. “And
when they’ve done that, there have been Republicans who stand up and call the
Republican president to account
, saying the Constitution matters and no president, no
man is above the law.”
“One of the things that I found most
disappointing: Where are the Democrats? Where are the liberals?” he continued.
“Where are the journalists and the media calling President Obama to account for
disregarding the law? Right now as we look at these fights, as we look at the
president picking and choosing, saying, ‘I’m not going to follow this law; I’m
not going to follow that law; I’m not going to follow this other law.’ There
are virtually no Democrats who will even speak up a word of criticism… You
know, in prior years there would be Democrats speaking up to protect the
Senate. It is amazing to me that every single Democratic senator just — just
goes in line and docilely agrees with the Executive usurping the power of the
Senate.”
The Texan senator noted that the framers
of the Constitution intended the three branches to “resist” each other in order
to protect the liberty of the people. “The Senate is failing in its job,” Cruz
claimed, “when it doesn’t resist against the president usurping power. All of
us should be concerned — listen, if this was a Republican president, I promise
you I would be every bit as vocal against a Republican president usurping power
and violating the Constitution. And we really need to see some Democrats and
some liberals standing up against an imperial president.”

Ariel Sharon Passes,
Leaves a Legacy of Fighting For Israeli Peace
Ariel Sharon, Israel’s 11th prime minister, was
eulogized on Monday as a fighter and pragmatic politician whose life was
intertwined with the land of Israel whose security he defended relentlessly.
“Like all historic leaders, all real leaders, he had a
north star that guided him,” Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. said at a
90-minute memorial on a plaza in front of Israel’s Parliament building. “His
north star was the survival of the state of Israel and the Jewish people
wherever they resided.”
Though Mr. Sharon’s “actions earned him controversy
and even condemnation,” Mr. Biden said, “he seemed never in doubt.” Calling him
“a complex man,” Mr. Biden noted that “he also lived in complex times in a very
complex neighborhood.”
Mr. Sharon died Saturday at 85 after eight years in a
state of minimal consciousness following a stroke that aborted his prime
ministership when, some analysts said, he seemed on the brink of historic moves
to end Israel’s intractable conflict with the Palestinians. But he was long criticized
internationally for his aggressive military endeavors and building of Jewish
settlements in occupied Palestinian territory.
Nicknamed in life both “the bulldozer” and “the
butcher,” he was remembered Monday not only for his bravery and boldness, but
for his sense of humor and sensitivity by fellow leaders and also by his former
soldiers and secretary.
The modest service was attended by family and old
friends, ministers and members of Parliament, its 750 seats not quite filled. A
military cantor recited the memorial prayer, and Sarit Hadad, a popular Israeli
singer sang a mournful ballad remembering the casualties of war, “We Are Both
From the Same Village,” said to be a Sharon favorite.
Shimon Peres, the 90-year-old Israeli president who
recalled meeting Mr. Sharon when the younger man was a history student with big
ideas about the state’s defense in the early 1950s, called him “the shoulder on
whom Israel’s security rested,” saying he “turned things that seemed impossible
into levers of possibility.”
“Israel loved him and he loved Israel’s children and
soil,” Mr. Peres said of a man who had been, at turns, both rival and ally.
“Arik was a man of the land – the fragrance of it appealed to his senses, and
its mounds he tilled, sowed and reaped. He defended and protected it as a
lion,” he said, referring to Mr. Sharon by his nickname.
He added, “He never halted from his aspiration to
envision the day Israel would be at peace.”

Will Supreme Court Reign In Obama’s Executive Power This Week? BY B.

The
Obama administration has proven itself keen on issuing unilateral decrees and
ruling by fiat. Naturally, this philosophy has earned significant scorn among
those who believe in the balance of power guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution.
One of
Obama’s most contended decisions related to his first term recess appointment
of three National Labor Relations Board members – an overstep lower courts
ruled unconstitutional. While the chief executive is permitted to make recess
appointments, Obama’s detractors pointed out that Congress was not in recess,
but a “pro forma” session defined by frequent short adjournments.
This
week, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear testimony in the case before
issuing its own decision. Justices will either uphold or overrule the appellate
court decision that recess appointments may only be made between congressional
sessions, and only in the event there is a new vacancy during that period.
The case,
initiated by Oregon bottling company Noel Canning, will have major implications
regarding a president’s power to make recess appointments. In its early stages,
the case revolved around the effects Obama’s appointments might have in
strengthening labor unions.
Now,
the scope of the Supreme Court’s involvement is limited to defining a
president’s ability to use executive power.
Nicholas
Quinn Rosenkranz of the Georgetown University Law Center will present the case
against Obama. He said he is confident that those on the other side of this
issue will be unable to prove their points.
“I
don’t think this is a close case,” he said, indicating he foresees a unanimous
decision in favor of Noel Canning.
Rosenkranz
explained that, in order to uphold Obama’s appointments, justices would have to
believe he is constitutionally permitted to make appointments whenever Congress
is adjourned, and that he may do so to fill existing vacancies. Furthermore, he
said the court would need to rule that pro forma sessions are not really
sessions at all.
While
Obama shows no signs of scaling back his imperial presidency, a Supreme Court
ruling against him in this matter would at least send the message that people
are paying attention.

Entre 1766 y 1780, los barcos que conducían los esclavos a América eran naves con bandera
y tripulación francesa o inglesa. Esta empresa fracasó por no cumplir lo estipulado
en cuanto al número de esclavos y porque pesaron mucho los intereses de los
préstamos para poder mantenerse. Fue disuelta en 1779.
A Finales Del Siglo XVIII Se Liberalizó El Tráfico De Negros.
Como puedes deducir estas empresas buscaban dinero (la inglesa era Muy conocida y sus acciones
cotizadas en la Bolsa de Londres), por lo que habría que investigar quiénes
fueron sus accionistas, para ver de que nacionalidad y quienes se
enriquecían en la bolsa con el trafico de negros...
