Obama Blames Fox News For His Failures By Justin Sink

President Obama said that gridlock on Capitol Hill stemmed from an inability to "penetrate the Republican base" and convince voters there that he's "not the caricature that you see on Fox News or Rush Limbaugh," rather than his oft-questioned willingness to socialize with lawmakers.
In bonus excerpts from an interview with The New Yorker's David Remnick, Obama conceded that there was "no doubt that personal relationships matter at the margins and can tip something over the finish line," and admitted that he "wasn't in a position to work the social scene in Washington" as the father of two young girls. http://nation.foxnews.com/2014/01/24/obama-blames-fox-news-his-failures?cmpid=NL_foxnation

Betty: Abuse of Executive Orders issue by obama.
For the SHOCK of your life, take 1 minute to comprehend what you read below. During our lifetimes, all Presidents have issued Executive Orders. For various reasons, some have issued more than others. These things will directly affect us all, in years to come. Question is: Do YOU care enough to send this, 'shocking info,' to people you love and others?
NUMBER OF EXECUTIVE ORDERS ISSUED by U.S. Presidents in the last 100 years:

Teddy Roosevelt - 3

All Others until FDR - 0

FDR - 11 in 16 years

Truman - 5 in 7 years

Ike - 2 in 8 years

Kennedy - 4 in 3 years

LBJ - 4 in 5 years

Nixon - 1 in 6 years

Ford - 3 in 2 years

Carter - 3 in 4 years

Reagan - 5 in 8 years

Bush - 3 in 4 years

Clinton - 15 in 8 years

George W. Bush - 62 in 8 years

Obama - 923 in 3 1/2 years! More than 1000+ and counting Executive Orders in 6 years...
Read some of them below - unbelievable!
Next step -dictatorship. (Looks like we are there already!)If you don't get the implications, you're not paying attention. How come all the other presidents in the past 100 years have not felt it necessary to INCREASE GOVERNMENT'S POWER OVER THE PEOPLE with more than 1,000 Executive Orders? This is really very scary. And most Americans have absolutely no idea what is happening.
YES, THERE IS A REASON THAT THIS PRESIDENT IS DETERMINED TO TAKE CONTROL AWAY FROM THE HOUSE AND THE SENATE. Even some Democrats in the House have turned on him, plus a very small number of Democrat Senators have questioned him. Rightfully so. -

WHAT IS OBAMA REALLY TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH????Remember what he told Russia's Putin: "I'll be more flexible after I'm re-elected".
Now look at these:

EXECUTIVE ORDER 10990 -- allows the government to take over all modes of transportation and control of highways and seaports.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 10995 -- allows the government to seize and control the communication media.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 10997 -- allows the government to take over all electrical power, gas, petroleum, fuels and minerals.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 10998 -- allows the government to take over all food resources and farms.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11000 -- allows the government to mobilize civilians into work brigades under government supervision.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11001 -- allows the government to take over all health, education and welfare functions.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11002 -- designates the registration of all persons. Postmaster General to operate a national registration.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11003 -- allows the government to take over all airports and aircraft, including commercial aircraft.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11004 -- allows the Housing and Finance Authority to relocate communities, build new housing with public funds, designate areas to be abandoned, and establish new locations for populations.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11005 -- allows the government to take over railroads, inland waterways and public storage facilities.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11049 -- assigns emergency preparedness function to federal departments and agencies, consolidating 21 operative Executive Orders issued over a fifteen year period.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11051 -- specifies the responsibility of the Office of Emergency Planning and gives authorization to put all Executive Orders into effect in times of increased international tensions and economic or financial crisis.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11310 -- grants authority to the Department of Justice to enforce the plans set out in Executive Orders, to institute industrial support, to establish judicial and legislative liaison, to control all aliens, to operate penal and correctional institutions, and to advise and assist the President.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11921 -- allows the Federal Emergency Preparedness Agency to develop plans to establish control over the mechanisms of production and distribution, of energy sources, wages, salaries, credit and the flow of money in U.S. Financial institution in any undefined national emergency. It also provides that when a state of emergency is declared by the President, Congress cannot review the action for six months.Feel free to verify the "executive orders" at will.....and these are just the major ones. I'm sure you've all heard the tale of the "Frog in the Pot"...Watch Obama's actions, not his words! By his actions he will show you where America is headed.Obama has issued executive orders that seek to "harmonize" U.S. Economic regulations with the rest of the world. These executive orders are yet another incremental step that is pushing us closer to a North American Union and a one world economic system.Obama used the stage at the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King's I have a dream speech to announce two new executive orders infringing on your second amendment rights.. The first bans the importation of antique military firearms for sale to sportsman and collectors.. He intentionally mislabels them military grade weapons to deceive the sheeple, but make no mistake . . . the order was written specifically to ban the importation of surplus M1 carbines, M1 Garands, 1903 Springfields and other antiques coveted by collectors and sport shooters. This order is the death knell for the civilian marksmanship program. Congress had previously passed the sportsman protection act in 1986 which among other things guaranteed that the importation of the historic relics for collectors and the CMP would not be impeded by unreasonable regulations..But Emperor Obama does not bend to the will of the people or the rule of law.. He will impose on his subjects what he wishes, when he wishes. Kind of like Papa Joe Stalin or the short Austrian with the funky mustache!Unfortunately, most Americans have absolutely no idea what is happening.

The American people need to understand that Barack Obama is constantly looking for ways to integrate the United States more deeply with the rest of the world. The globalization of the world economy has accelerated under Obama, and this latest executive order represents a fundamental change in U.S. economic policy. Now federal regulators will be required to "harmonize" their work with the international community.
If THIS IS DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE, THEN PROVE TO YOURSELF IT'S WRONG - Google it!http://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/presidential-actions/executive-orders

Wall Street adviser: Actual unemployment is 37.2%, 'misery index' worst in 40 years. By Paul Bedard |

40 years ago, former President Ford issued "WIN" buttons, short for "Whip Inflation Now." The...
Don't believe the happy talk coming out of the White House, Federal Reserve andTreasury Department when it comes to the real unemployment rate and the true “Misery Index.” Because, according to an influential Wall Street advisor, the figures are a fraud.
In a memo to clients provided to Secrets, David John Marotta calculates the actual unemployment rate of those not working at a sky-high 37.2 percent, not the 6.7 percent advertised by the Fed, and the Misery Index at over 14, not the 8 claimed by the government.
Marotta, who recently advised those worried about an imploding economy to get a gun, said that the government isn't being honest in how it calculates those out of the workforce or inflation, the two numbers used to get the Misery Index figure.

“The unemployment rate only describes people who are currently working or looking for work,” he said. That leaves out a ton more.
“Unemployment in its truest definition, meaning the portion of people who do not have any job, is 37.2 percent. This number obviously includes some people who are not or never plan to seek employment. But it does describe how many people are not able to, do not want to or cannot find a way to work. Policies that remove the barriers to employment, thus decreasing this number, are obviously beneficial,” he and colleague Megan Russell in their new investors note from their offices in Charlottesville, Va.
They added that “officially-reported unemployment numbers decrease when enough time passes to discourage the unemployed from looking for work. A decrease is not necessarily beneficial; an increase is clearly detrimental.”
Then there is the Misery Index, which is a calculation based in inflation and unemployment, both numbers the duo say are underscored by the government. He said that the Index doesn’t properly calculate how Uncle Sam is propping up the economy with bond purchases and other actions.
“These tricks, along with a host of other dubious accounting schemes, underreport inflation by about 3 percent,” they wrote, adding that the official inflation rate is just 1.24 percent.
“Today, the Misery Index would be 7.54 using official numbers,” they wrote. But if calculations tabulating the full national unemployment including discouraged workers, which is 10.2 percent, and the historical method of calculating inflation, which is now 4.5 percent, ‘the current misery index is closer to 14.7, worse even than during the Ford administration.”

Iran says they did not agree to dismantle anything. By United Press International

The United States has improperly described Iran's commitments in an interim nuclear deal, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Thursday.
Zarif said the manner in which the White House has described the agreement differs from the text agreed to by Iran and other countries, CNN reported in an exclusive interview.
He told CNN Iran "did not agree to dismantle anything."
"The White House version both underplays the concessions and overplays Iranian commitments" in the agreement. Zarif said.
A White House fact sheet issued after the agreement said Iran would have to dilute its stockpile of uranium that had been enriched to 20 percent. Iran also was mandated to halt all enrichment above 5 percent and "dismantle the technical connections required to enrich above 5 percent."
The 5 percent enrichment level is enough to generate electric power, but not enough to create nuclear weapons.
Speaking from Davos, Switzerland, where he is attending the World Economic Forum, Zarif said the White House language "tries to portray it as basically a dismantling of Iran's nuclear program. That is the word they use time and again. If you find a single, a single word, that even closely resembles dismantling or could be defined as dismantling in the entire text, then I would take back my comment."
Responding to Zarif's comment, a White House official said, "we expected that the Iranians would need to spin this for their domestic political purposes, and are not surprised they are doing just that."
A statement by the White House last week did not use the word dismantle.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Wednesday his government would not destroy any centrifuges but that "we are ready to provide confidence that there should be no concern about Iran's program."

Sheriff Joe Arpaio Mulls Run for Arizona Governor

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the law enforcement local known nationwide for his tough treatment of inmates and illegals alike, said that he’s mulling a run for governor of Arizona.
The Elect Sheriff Joe Arpaio committee put out a press release this week, saying the six-term sheriff raised more than $3.5 million last year for his re-election to the local office at a time when his critics were pushing the hardest.
“We continue to be blown away by the depth and breadth of support for Sheriff Joe,” said Chad Willems, Mr. Arpaio’s campaign manager, in the release reported by the Huffington Post. “These members tell the story that the sheriff and his policies are more popular than ever.”

Judge rules sperm donor to lesbians owes child support

By Associated Press  TOPEKA, Kan. - A man who provided sperm to a lesbian couple in response to an online ad is the father of a child born to one of the women and must pay child support, a Kansas judge ruled Wednesday.
Topeka resident William Marotta had argued that he had waived his parental rights and didn't intend to be a father. Shawnee County District Court Judge Mary Mattivi rejected that claim, saying the parties didn't involve a licensed physician in the artificial insemination process and thus Marotta didn't qualify as a sperm donor, The Topeka Capital-Journal (http://bit.ly/LHwLyW) reported.
"In this case, quite simply, the parties failed to perform to statutory requirement of the Kansas Parentage Act in not enlisting a licensed physician at some point in the artificial insemination process, and the parties' self-designation of (Marotta) as a sperm donor is insufficient to relieve (Marotta) of parental right and responsibilities to the child," Mattivi wrote.
The Kansas Department for Children and Families filed the case in October 2012 seeking to have Marotta declared the father of a child born to Jennifer Schreiner in 2009. The state was seeking to have Marotta declared the child's father so he can be held responsible for about $6,000 in public assistance the state provided, as well as future child support.
Marotta opposed that action, saying he had contacted Schreiner and her partner at the time, Angela Bauer, in response to an ad they placed on Craigslist seeking a sperm donor. He said he signed a contract waiving his parental rights and responsibilities.
Attorneys for the state contended the contract was moot because the parties didn't follow a 1994 Kansas law requiring a licensed physician to perform the artificial insemination when donors were involved.
During oral arguments at a hearing in October, Timothy Keck, co-lead counsel for the state, said the case focused on child support. Marotta's attorney, Benoit Swinnen, cited several court rulings he said support the argument that Marotta is legally a sperm donor and not required to pay child support.
Swinnen also argued that the Kansas statute doesn't specifically require the artificial insemination to be carried out by a physician.
Court documents show Schreiner indicated she didn't know the name of the donor or "have any information" about him in her application for child support. However, a sperm donor contract between Marotta and the couple includes his name, and the agency noted the couple talked about their appreciation for him in an interview with The Capital-Journal.
A filing Wednesday by the DCF argues the sperm donor contract overlooks "the well-established law in this state that a person cannot contract away his or her obligations to support their child."
The right for support belongs to the child, not the parents, the filing says.
The agency said it also received different versions of the donor contract from Marotta and Schreiner, suggesting that the document "may be invalid on its face."
"We stand by that contract," Swinnen said. "The insinuation is offensive, and we are responding vigorously to that. We stand by our story. There was no personal relationship whatsoever between my client and the mother, or the partner of the mother, or the child. Anything the state insinuates is vilifying my client, and I will address it."

·         Carlos Bringuier: Chinese adquisitions... Interesante

In the near future, China will employ millions of American workers and dominate thousands of small communities all over the United States. Chinese acquisition of U.S. businesses set a new all-time record last year, and it is on pace to shatter that record this year.
The Smithfield Foods acquisition is an example. Smithfield Foods is the largest pork producer and processor in the world. It has facilities in 26 U.S. states and it employs tens of thousands of Americans.
It directly owns 460 farms and has contracts with approximately 2,100 others. But now a Chinese company has bought it for $ 4.7 billion, and that means that the Chinese will now be the most important employer in dozens of rural communities all over America.
Thanks in part to our massively bloated trade deficit with China, the Chinese have trillions of dollars to spend. They are only just starting to exercise their economic muscle.
It is important to keep in mind that there is often not much of a difference between “the Chinese government” and “Chinese corporations”.  In 2011, 43 percent of all profits in China were produced by companies where the Chinese government had a controlling interest in.
Last year a Chinese company spent $2.6 billion to purchase AMC entertainment – one of the largest movie theater chains in the United States. Now that Chinese company controls more movie ticket sales than anyone else in the world.
But China is not just relying on acquisitions to expand its economic power. “Economic beachheads” are being established all over America. For example, Golden Dragon Precise Copper Tube Group, Inc. recently broke ground on a $100 million plant in Thomasville, Alabama. Many of the residents of Thomasville, Alabama will be glad to have jobs, but it will also become yet  another community that will now be heavily dependent on communist China.
And guess where else Chinese companies are putting down roots?
Detroit. Chinese-owned companies are investing in American businesses and new vehicle technology, selling everything from seat belts to shock absorbers in retail stores, and hiring experienced engineers and designers in an effort to soak up the talent and expertise of domestic automakers and their suppliers.
If you recently purchased an “American-made” vehicle, there is a really good chance that it has a number of Chinese parts in it.
Industry analysts are hard-pressed to put a number on the Chinese suppliers operating in the United States.
China seems particularly interested in acquiring energy resources in the United States. For example, China is actually mining for coal in the mountains of Tennessee. Guizhou Gouchuang Energy Holdings Group spent 616 million dollars to acquire Triple H Coal Co. in Jacksboro, Tennessee.  At the time, that acquisition really didn’t make much news, but now a group of conservatives in Tennessee is trying to stop the Chinese from blowing up their mountains and taking their coal.
And pretty soon China may want to build entire cities in the United States just like they have been doing in other countries.
Right now China is actually building a city larger than Manhattan just outside Minsk, the capital of Belarus.                                                                     Are you starting to get the picture? China is on the rise. If you doubt this, just read the following:
#  When you total up all imports and exports, China is now the number one trading nation on the entire planet.
              #  Overall, the U.S. has run a trade deficit with China over the past decade that comes to more than 2.3 trillion dollars.
              #  China has more foreign currency reserves than anyone else on the planet.
              #  China now has the largest new car market in the entire world.
              #  China now produces more than twice as many automobiles as the United States does. After being bailed out by  U.S. taxpayers, GM is involved in 11 joint ventures with Chinese companies.
              #  China is the number one gold producer in the world.
              #  The uniforms for the U.S. Olympic team were made in China.
              #  85% of all artificial Christmas trees the world over are made in China.
              #  The new World Trade Center tower in New York is going to include glass imported from China.
              #  China now consumes more energy than the United States does.
              #  China is now in aggregate the leading manufacturer of goods in the entire world.
              #  China uses more cement than the rest of the world combined.
              #  China is now the number one producer of wind and solar power on the entire globe.
              #  China produces 3 times as much coal and 11 times as much steel as the United States does.
              #  China produces more than 90 percent of the global supply of rare earth elements.
              #  China is now the number one supplier of components that are critical to the operation of any national defense system.
              # In  published scientific research articles China is expected to become number one in the world very shortly.
And  what we have seen so far may just be the tip of the iceberg.

A CULTURE THAT CELEBRATES ABORTION WILLS ITS OWN DESTRUCTION

At a time when more and more Americans are coming to an awareness of how evil abortion is, President Barack Obama, the most fiercely pro-abortionist president in our history, is digging his heels in further.
This week, he made his annual statement glorifying this hideous practice on the anniversary of the infernal 1973 Supreme Court decision, Roe v. Wade, which greatly restricted abortion laws.
Obama’s statement was as unapologetic as it was grotesque, celebrating an abominable procedure that ought to be outlawed — not glamorized, as the left does with it. Before you accuse me of hyperbole, be advised that Democratic National Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz wished Roe v. Wade a happy 41st birthday. “Happy”?
Obama said, “Today, as we reflect on the 41st anniversary of the Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade, we recommit ourselves to the decision’s guiding principle: that every woman should be able to make her own choices about her body and her health.
“We reaffirm our steadfast commitment to protecting a woman’s access to safe, affordable health care and her constitutional right to privacy, including the right to reproductive freedom.
“And we resolve to reduce the number of unintended pregnancies, support maternal and child health, and continue to build safe and healthy communities for all our children, because this is a country where everyone deserves the same freedom and opportunities to fulfill their dreams.”
No one is trying to interfere with women’s autonomy over their own bodies, except when another body and life is involved. It is sheer sophistry and misdirection to argue that abortion opponents are on a crusade against women’s liberty. This formulation conveniently — and repugnantly — factors out of the equation the innocent child involved.
It is dishonest for Obama to couch this issue in terms of women’s health. Most pro-lifers, in fact, acknowledge an exception in those rare cases when the mother’s life is in danger. Women’s health isn’t the issue, and pro-abortionists know that. The only thing interfering with a woman’s “choices about her … health” these days is Obamacare. If maximizing health care choices were what is driving Obama, he would repeal Obamacare.
Nor does abortion have anything to do with privacy under any stretch of the English language; I don’t care what the misguided Supreme Court said to the contrary in 1973. No amount of rhetorical legalese on “emanations” and “penumbras” can pollute our common sense into believing that a woman has a right to terminate the life of an innocent child she is carrying as a matter of constitutional privacy. No wonder some people have contempt for lawyers.
Obama has the audacity to talk about safe and healthy communities for all our children? Aborted babies are children, and Obama and his pro-abortionists are not making any of them safe. Indeed, since Roe, an estimated 55 million babies have been snuffed out in the name of women’s choice and health and now children’s safety? Now that’s chutzpah! The number of babies killed in abortions in New York City in 2010 (83,750) would fill the seats in MetLife Stadium, where the Super Bowl is scheduled to be played this year.
But perhaps the most offensive sentence in Obama’s statement was the last one, in which he attempted to fold the right to abortion into the American dream. Has he no shame? No amount of presidential spin will alter the irreversible fact that 55 million Americans were never given an opportunity to fulfill their dreams. How could any human being believe that preserving legal protection for other human beings to terminate the lives of yet other human beings is giving them an “opportunity to fill their dreams”? Are some people so dark-hearted that they consider killing babies an opportunity to fulfill dreams?
It is high time that people who can still find their moral compass through the nihilistic morass that is corrupting our culture start speaking out and quit allowing the left to turn our values, our language and, yes, our sanity on their heads. Postmodernism and moral relativism will lead to the destruction of all three, as the late Malcolm Muggeridge prophetically observed.
Some other civilizations, Muggeridge noted, were destroyed by external forces, but Western man has “had the unique distinction of training its own destroyers at its own educational institutions, and then providing them with facilities for propagating their destructive ideology far and wide, all at the public expense. Thus did Western Man decide to abolish himself, creating his own boredom out of his own affluence, his own vulnerability out of his own strength, his own impotence out of his own erotomania, himself blowing the trumpet that brought the walls of his own city tumbling down, and having convinced himself that he was too numerous, labored with pill and scalpel and syringe to make himself fewer. Until at last, having educated himself into imbecility, and polluted and drugged himself into stupefaction, he keeled over — a weary, battered old brontosaurus — and became extinct.”
David Limbaugh is a writer, author and attorney. His latest book, “The Great Destroyer,” reached No. 2 on the New York Times best-seller list for nonfiction.

Parece que el problema es que hay una gran division en el partido democrata y no quieren que nos enteremos para que no lo usemos a favor nuestro.

I won’t call it racism. Racism takes a lot of forms, but I’m going to give the Clintons the benefit of the doubt about their latest claim and soften the judgment to ‘racial bias’. How can this be interpreted any other way?
ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos Reports: Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., and former President Bill Clinton are making very direct arguments to Democratic superdelegates, starkly insisting Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., cannot win a general election against presumptive Republican nominee, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.
I’m sure they’re citing the poll numbers released earlier today that seem to indicate that Clinton would win Ohio and Florida in a general election. Of course, this argument is silly, because right now Clinton and Obama are opponents. If Clinton would outperform Obama today, would Obama outperform Clinton tomorrow after her endorsement?
But more to my point about racial bias, consider this report from TPM:
In a reference to Wright’s controversial views, Ickes continued: “Nobody thinks that Barack Obama harbors those thoughts. But that’s not the issue. The issue is what Republicans [will do with them]…I think they’re going to give him a very tough time.”
Well, duh. And do the Clintons think that they’re immune from stories like this one where a former boss publicly stated that he had fired 27-year old Hillary Clinton and refused to give her a letter of recommendation for her unethical efforts in the Watergate investigation?
Why?
“Because she was a liar,” Zeifman said in an interview last week. “She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.”
The Clinton campaign is desperately engaging in voter suppression (he’s not electable in November, don’t vote for him in the primaries), and the direct statements that he cannot win.
Further, instead of answering the call to have a dialogue about race and begin to elevate the discussion to the issues and pivot away from politics-as-usual, the Clintons are essentially saying that the American electorate will reject a candidate who has demonstrated integrity, honesty and leadership on the question of race, but if a white woman runs, she will capture those states and somehow win the election.
In the end, it’s less about what will be thrown at Obama or Clinton by the Republicans, but how they’ll deal with it. If you look to their history, it seems clear to me that the one who has dealt most effectively and honestly with it is Barack Obama, which is consistent with what voters seem to be saying at the polls.
If Hillary Clinton thinks she’d win on the two-state Florida/Ohio strategy, she’s really reached the lowest point of the denial phase of grief. Let’s hope she moves through the rest of the stages rapidly.

The first item in my news feed this afternoon was this clip of an Al-Jezeera interview with Barack Obama’s Kenyan step-grandmother. Lots of mentions of his “Muslim family” origins, nice shot of his father’s headstone (who shares his name) and of course, much pride from step-grandma about how a ‘native son’ has made good in America.
None of it is bad. None of it paints Barack Obama in a negative light. On its face, it’s all light and sweetness. Sort of like that helpful popup window telling you that there might be a virus on your computer. But when you click on that helpful message, it infects your computer with an insidious virus, worm or trojan that chews your system files from the inside out, spewing all sorts of spam, your credit card numbers, and other personal data into the hands of criminals.
Stay with me here. Another report just popped up saying that of the anti-Obama Democrats, 25% of them believe he is a Muslim.
The Al Jazeera video was posted by Link TV, which on its face, looks like a solid progressive organization. Obama aide Susan Rice was once a director of Internews. Internews is LinkTV’s partner and sponsor of LinkMedia, the non-profit organization that runs LinkTV. Think of this interwoven organizational structure relationship as the helpful popop ad, lying to you.
The obvious question is this: Why would an organization seeking to do good, solid, progressive things post a video from February 6th which subtly reminds the audience that: a) Barack Obama is a black guy; and b) Barack Obama has African family with Muslim-in-name-only associations?
David Michaelis is the Director of Current Affairs at Link TV. David Michaelis is the board liason between Internews and LinkTV too.
David Michaelis is a hefty contributor to Hillary Clinton and has been for some time.
Reviewing the bidding here for a minute:
1.   Big Clinton donors send extortion letter to Nancy Pelosi. (Be sure to read that link, lots of great info about those donors)
2.   Clinton revives the Jeremiah Wright dead horse, reinforcing the “he’s a black guy, be afraid” vulnerability in Pennsylvania voters.
3.   On the other side, Clinton donors release the backdoor trojan, an interview slyly giving rise to the fears of those anti-Obama Democrats that are sure he’s Muslim.
4.   Clinton stands at a rally and reassures the entire country that we will reunite once the nominee is selected, firmly placing herself right in the middle of two opposite fears.
Barack Obama a Muslim or a Black Extremist? Doesn’t matter to Clinton, because she’s right in the middle of either position, like any good moderate should be.
This is why Hillary has lost the nomination, and it is why she deserved to lose the nomination. This is triangulation, the art of creating two extremes and then appearing moderate, while watching the worm work its way through the press slowly, subtly, first slowing them down a bit before the payload hits, and they go off, shredding and melting down any fact while feeding the ignorance of the electorate lapping at the Limbaugh trough.
All of this goes to prove that Samantha Power was right. Hillary Clinton is a monster. Or perhaps more to my metaphor, malware.

I’m breaking my own pledge to ignore the Clintons today. Today’s Bill Clinton statement just shouted to me:
“If a politician doesn’t wanna get beat up, he shouldn’t run for office,” he said. “If a politician doesn’t wanna get beat up, he shouldn’t run for office. If a football player doesn’t want to get tackled or want the risk of an a occasional clip he shouldn’t put the pads on.”
First note: He speaks the language of old politics, not the new politics.
Second note: At this point, it’s not about politicians being beat up. It’s about the systematic torture of the electorate, drip by drip, slowly choking off any room to breathe, think, or react. Their goal is absolute submission, even if it means waterboarding the very people they expect to cast a vote for them.
When the Clintons lie to and waterboard the voters, they send several messages:
1.   They don’t trust the strength of their own message to stand on its own.
2.   They don’t trust the voters to accept their message without being forced to reject the PERSON who opposes them.
3.   They don’t trust democracy, which is clearly the most insidious message of all.
When the Clintons sink to the level of pandering to Richard Mellon Scaife, the man who made it his life’s work to ruin them, and shortly after that meeting, distributing an American Spectator article claiming to prove that Obama and his advisor Merrill McPeak are anti-semitic, they are not fighting. They’re pouring the water right down our nose.
I repeat, this isn’t a fight. They are not smearing Barack Obama, but they are engaging in systematic voter abuse and torture. There ought to be a law. Oh wait! There IS a law. Oops, there WAS a law but John McCain voted against it and George Bush vetoed it.
Just so we’re clear about the difference between the two: Fighting can be fair; torture never is.
Update: My spouse likens the Clinton tactics to the 9/11 bombers — they will do anything within their reach to harm the voters. If they had some way to annihilate the Obama nomination even if it meant the collapse of the Democrats in the process.

Or, “Liberal” ain’t no swear word…
James Dobson has fired the first evangelical salvo of the upcoming national campaign between Barack Obama and John McCain.
Sen. Obama was recently named the most liberal U.S. Senator, based on the annual voting analysis by the non-partisan and highly respected National Journal. If he emerges as the Democratic nominee, one of the critical jobs of Focus Action will be to uncover the real Barack Obama—not the feel-good orator who speaks of “change” and “hope,” but the man who would be the most left-wing president in our nation’s history.
Throughout our history, great Americans have stood up to grave challenges of all sorts. As this latest wave of secular liberalism threatens us, I look forward to standing shoulder to shoulder with you in prayer and action – in defense of the family.
These are really scary words coming from a pastor who is practically canonized by the Religious Right.Focus Action is their attempt to keep the tax exemption in place for Focus on the Family by pretending that the actions of this group have no impact on the tax-exempt group. Here are some more notable excerpts:
On the Judiciary
Activist judges who manufacture new constitutional rights out of whole cloth and legislate their own social policy preferences from the bench have infuriated Americans for far too long, bringing the subject of selection of judges to the forefront of the current culture war and political debate. This section will explore the selection of our state and federal judges, from state judicial voter guides to Senate confirmation proceedings. It will discuss judicial philosophies such as “living Constitutions” and “originalism” that guide judges in making their decisions, and highlight specific judges, good and bad, in an attempt to educate and inform.
On Abstinence/Public Policy
There have always been elements within society that have wanted an anarchic, ungoverned social approach to sexual behavior. From the 1960s?the dawn of the ?sexual revolution??until the late 1990s, the sexual anarchists largely had their way in influencing society through legislation and education. Sexual anarchists controlled congressional purse strings for sex education funding. The results were disastrous.
Notably missing from this website is any kind of “moral” or biblical defense for waging war on a nation that did not attack us, lying in order to do it, spying on the citizens of this country, and torturing prisoners, all of which are antithetical to the message of Christ.
Yet, Dr. Dobson would have us think that the term ‘liberal’ means some sort of craven, wanton, out-of-control political bent that will forever corrupt the morals of our country. In fact, liberals are much more in line with the biblical principles that Dr. Dobson has forgotten in his zeal to become the moral guardian of our country; namely, caring for the poor, the sick, the elderly, reaching out to the disenfranchised and bringing them into society’s mainstream, according them rights and respect.
Liberal values are not craven. They are formed out of a compassionate desire to meet the needs of those who are in need, and to form a society that is much more compassionate and tolerant. Folks like Dobson would sacrifice compassion for dogma, love for judgment.
Moreover, Dobson does not reflect true conservative values. His organization doesn’t advocate for limited government; it advocates for MORE government, set in place to enforce the Dobsonian moral agenda. True conservatives believe the first place for education is within the family, not within the schools, and they don’t rely upon the government to provide that education, yet Dobson would like to control the courts, the schools, the curriculum, and the agenda of our schools, which I view as a lack of effectiveness in his efforts to use his pulpit to educate families and churches.
Dobson is simply a theocrat. Look no further than his endorsement of Mike Huckabee during the primaries for evidence of it. He is as anti-conservative as he is anti-liberal. In an election which will pivot on the question of whether we are willing to continue to wage a war we had no business beginning, losing even more young men and women in the process, the question of
 Barack Obama’s ‘liberalism’ is moot.
If this is the best he can do to smear Barack Obama, there’s not much to worry about.

Why does she go on like this? Does Clinton privately believe that Obama is so incompetent that only she can deliver the policies they both support? Is she simply selfish, and willing to put her party through agony for the sake of her slender chance? Are leading Democrats so narcissistic that they would create bitter stagnation even if they were granted one-party rule?
The better answer is that Clinton’s long rear-guard action is the logical extension of her relentlessly political life.
Going on Fox is like going on pretend TV, but the problem is that Fox viewers seem to mistake Fox News for reality. This wouldn’t matter, except for the fact that Fox News and their cohorts on right wing talk radio and blogs manage to set the agenda for the rest of the news media. For instance, borrowing “facts” direct from the a right wing hate blog, Fox commentator William Kristol goofed in his NY Times column about Obama attending the infamous Rev. Wright church service — Obama had told the truth, he hadn’t been there — then Kristol had to take it all back when corrected by actual real live journalists. But of course by that time the lie had done the rounds and become another “fact.”
As the day goes on, you start to feel insane, if you keep MSNBC on. Bill Clinton inferred or didn’t infer that Obama was not a patriot. Discuss. Discuss some more. ( I think “who is getting paid for this debate?”) Because the same stuff is rehashed in a sisyphusian cacophony from dawn to midnight, with some breaks for shows about prisoners and their tattoos. On MSNBC I think the vice president of the United States just shrugged again about the dead children of America. You can see the blood slowing and thickening in his arteries, occluding and blocking all the impulses that are responsible for decency.
Media Matters – Fox News panel ponders significance of Richardson’s beard:
Summary: While discussing on Fox News’ The Live Desk New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson’s endorsement of Sen. Barack Obama, Philadelphia radio host Dom Giordano said of Richardson’s beard: “I don’t know if it’s playing into the ethnic card, or whatever.” Host Martha MacCallum stated, “[Richardson] said, you know, ‘It’s hard for me,’ he said to me once, ‘people don’t even know I’m Hispanic,’ ” and then asked, “So is that part of what he is … cultivating here?” Giordano replied, “I think so.”
Hannity #1, (Rule #6)
HANNITY: Reverend Lawson, with all that we’ve heard from Reverend Wright, do you support everything he has said?
LAWSON: Of course not. I don’t support everything anybody says, even members of my own family. But I do recognize him as a friend, as a prophetic preacher and as a person who has been extremely valuable, not only in Chicago but nationwide, almost globally. He is a good man.
HANNITY: He is a good man that says G.D. America, the U.S. KKK of America, all of these statements. Do you think that’s coming from a good man?
HANNITY: I’m sure you’re perfect in your life and that you’ve never made any mistakes.
HITCHENS: I’ve never committed treason like that. I don’t believe in the sincerity of his apology…
HANNITY: I knew Reverend Falwell, Christopher. I know the good work that this man has done.
HITCHENS: Tell me about it.
“I must say that this new strategy of denying and disempowering and disenfranchising the voters in Florida and Michigan is, I believe, a terrible mistake. Hillary believes their votes should be counted. And I don’t know how we’re gonna go to those people in the general election and say you gotta vote for us even though we dumped all over you in the primary,” Clinton told a crowd at the Westside Democratic Club in South Bend.

Instead of focusing on the incessant pundit prattle that’s polluting the airwaves today, perhaps it would be worth looking at the rules for those of us who want to be part of “The New Politics“. Everyone is having difficulty with the idea of a different level of discourse, but I think that’s because we’re so entrenched in the old rules, so here are some new ones to try.
1.   Define our ideals. If we hate smear politics, are we willing to give them up? Are we willing to forego references to candidates’ old scandals and focus on the issues? Will we decide to go forward with discussions of issues undistracted or continue to ignore them in favor of the ‘hot headlines’?
2.   Choose caring over cynicism. Can we confront our worst fears and lay them aside, or will they continue to dominate the conversation? Reactions to Obama’s speech last year are an example. Many saw it as an historic example of how to deal with the difficult and hard issues of our time in an adult manner. Inside of that speech, Barack Obama made it clear that he understood the resentments on all sides of the race issue, not just a single side, and came at it compassionately.
3.   Refuse to accept mainstream media’s impressions as true This probably should have been rule number one. The mainstream media has a vested interest in creating conflict where none need exist, and they do so with alarming regularity. As an example, the mortgage crisis is still huge, 4,000 American soldiers are dead in Iraq, violence has increased and an uneasy truce may be broken soon, yet major news outlets and talk shows are still hammering each other over the Jeremiah Wright non-controversy. This proves two points: one, their primary concern is stirring controversy, not reporting news; and two, they are not researching their stories before taking them to air. If they were, they’d be focused on reporting the MISreporting originally done with regard to this story. Participating in The New Politics means beginning with the understanding that the political reporting and commentary is by necessity slanted, not factual, and often erroneous. New Politics participants have to choose to use their own heads and hearts to research and form opinions on the facts, rather than the opinion of an overpaid pundit.
4.   Be courageous. The time for sitting idly by in our living rooms is over. Get out and talk to the neighbors, encourage a new style of political discourse, one that’s based on facts, common values, and a desire for the best for our country rather than the expedient.
5.   Find common ground. Rather than figuring out what divides us, why not try finding the areas of agreement and trying to branch out into a debate of areas of disagreement on a common foundation? Rather than attacking someone’s patriotism, maybe acknowledge that we’re all patriotic, but have different ways of demonstrating patriotism? It seems like a more productive way to approach political discourse and after hearing everyone scream at each other, might even be welcome.
6.   Choose to be intellectually honest. No spin, honesty. Probably the hardest to attain.
